Match Preview: Dundalk vs Sligo Rovers

07/08/2011 07:58

Sligo Rovers must do without the suspended Jason McGuinness this evening in tonight's clash with Dundalk.

McGuinness, who has been a key player for the Bit O' Red this season, misses out due to picking up a certain number of yellow cards during the season. Alan Keane is also expected to miss out through injury, with Derek Foran and Danny Ventre the most likely replacements.

Ian Foster meanwhile will be without out Eoghan Osborne, Stephen McDonnell and Colin Hawkins but are boosted by the return of Jason Byrne and Ross Gaynor.

Rovers have picked up 4 points from a possible 6 this season against the Lilywhites, with a 1-1 draw in Oriel Park where Gavin Peers equalizer helped pick up a point for Rovers after Byrne had given Dundalk the lead and an Alan Kirby goal was enough at home for a 1-0 win, with Brendan Clarke also showing some last minute heroics to keep their lead.

A victory this evening would see Rovers leap over Derry City and Shamrock Rovers back into first place after both teams won on Friday.

The match kicks off at 5pm and will be live on Ocean FM with commentary from Keith O' Dwyer and Alan Cawley.
