Keane pens new deal
Sligo Rovers are delighted to announce that Alan Keane has agreed a new contract with the club for the 2011 Season.

The club are also currently in talks with all the players from this year’s squad and there will further announcements in the days to come.
Keane has enjoyed an excellent season at The Showgrounds, producing many fine performances to help the Bit o’ Red finish third in the Premier Division and qualify for the FAI Ford Cup final with Shamrock Rovers next week.

FAI Ford Cup winners Sligo Rovers are thrilled to announce that manager Paul Cook has signed a new contract with the club, as Gavin Peers and Matthew Blinkhorn commit for the 2011 season.

Following one of the most successful campaigns in the history of Sligo Rovers, the club are delighted that Cook has agreed to stay on for two years, with an optional extra year, in search of more silverware with the Bit o’ Red in the coming seasons.
Cook has led Rovers to success in the EA Sports and FAI Cup finals as well as qualification for the Europa League twice in a memorable three and a half year period with the club so far.
Sligo Rovers chairman Dermot Kelly said: “It’s a huge thing for the club to get Paul to sign a new deal. We feel it is a statement of intent by Sligo Rovers that we want more trophies and more success at The Showgrounds.
“It‘s a boost when you consider we had to hold off rumblings interest from other clubs in Paul. We feel he is the best coach in the league and that obviously sits in our style of play of playing good football. It’s fantastic for the relationship we have with him.

Peers and Blinkhorn join Alan Keane in committing to another year with the Bit o’ Red.
Peers will enjoy his sixth season with Sligo next year after once again delivering a fine season in the Rovers defence.
Blinhorn has gone from strength to strength in his time at The Showgrounds and we look forward to announcing more resignings in the coming days.
